Progress!!!

Look Mom, I don't need two hands to hold it - I'm way ahead of the pack!

What is the fuss, I've been doing this for weeks now

Hey, you don't need fancy positioning to drink the milk

- just do it!

Houston, we have progress.

Here are pictures of Emma sitting without support and both twins holding their bottles while feeding.

The bottle holding is especially nice as it frees us up a great deal more. Daniel tonight drank his entire bottle while holding it. Emma held it for a bit before she started playing with the bottle, eventually spraying herself and the blanket with milk.

Tonight was the first time that Emma sat up up for an extended period. As soon as she realised what she was doing, she started screaming in fear of falling backwards - which of course she then did. After lots of comfort she was put in the position again and after a few falls and lots of positive support, she was laughing and leaning left and right, while sitting, to show us what a good "sitter"she is. So nice to watch her gain the confidence and skill within a short period of time.

We also got Daniel sitting, but his love for rocking and playing with the permanently on torch (it recharges itself through movement) resulted in him slumping forward quite quickly. We think that he can sit - it is just that rocking is so cool!

Tonight they again did a bit of wrestling with lots of laughter and squeals. Absolutely wonderful to watch (from a distance).

And then they went to sleep - it is getting easier - Thank you to everyone who sent us a CD - they work like a charm!

They have now slept through for three nights in a row. We had forgotton what sleeping through meant. Fiona says that this is the first day for a long time that she feels rested.
