Snow!

Last night, it snowed! The first time that snow (not sleet) has fallen for 26 years! The snow at our house was a mere sprinkling (as you'll see from the pictures). In Parkview, where I grew up, the snow was about 1 cm thick and south of Johannesburg it was quite thick. A day to remember.

In September 1981, it was a day to remember. Lets hope that Daniel and Emma get to experience snow at home before 2033! There are stories of kids waking up at midnight (when it started) and playing in the snow until 3 am! Brrrr

Our back garden with a sprinkling.
The roof - sprinkled.
The bird feeder snowed in!
A scene at Fiona's work.

Emma playing this evening with the bubble bottle (for blowing bubbles) which they absolutely love.
Thank you John and Liz.
Daniel enjoying the twins favourite past time - hiding under table or getting stuck in the legs of a side table (before knocking their heads on the underside of the table and screaming).
They are learning to move the tables in our lounge - Daniel was tonight using his feet and arms to slide the bigger coffee table in our lounge. An indication of the chaos to come?
Otherwise, they are both sleeping through every night. Emma loves moving into a corner and then calling out for help - it usually happens every second night (Fiona's shift). It takes less than a minute to rescue her and so we are feeling a little bit more rested.
It is going to be -2 degrees tonight. Brrrr. We have set a heater to run for 30 minutes every hour so the babies' room is actually nice and warm. Also stocked up on gas bottles for our gas heater in case of power cuts although our area rarely has them.
