We're back after a week of no blog entries.
The week has been one of those incredibly busy weeks at work and at home. The twins have been full of whines this week with Emma keeping us up for several nights during the week. So we are both very, very tired.
All of this led to both babies developing colds and runny noses on Thursday. We are not sick and we have avoided people who are sick - so the infection must have just been a bad luck infection from some random person. The infection seems to be a horrible cough and a runny nose.
Emma has spent several nights in our bed as a result of hours of moaning after she went to bed. Daniel chose just to deal with it and went to bed straight after his porridge last night. He then slept through the night, not even drinking his evening bottle.
Emma seems pretty bored with all their toys and so we made a big effort this week to upgrade our toy collection. Got some great stuff from the toy exchange. Best buy was a soccer ball that Emma loves catching, with her legs, and then "swiping" back at us. She seems to have a nice "ball sense." Daniel sort of played with it but was not really very interested. W're now limiting the toys available as too many over-stimulates them.
We had a nice Spur evening on Friday night - the first for several weeks. Nice to be out.
We're also really enjoying the Tour De France. Fiona even demanded that I turn the radio up on Friday night (as we were driving to Spur) so she could listen to the result of the day. What wives ask to listen to the sports news?
And then today we joined 38,000 Joburgers and did the 702 Walk the Talk. We did the 8 km walk which was just right as we only got tired as we got to the end. The weather was cool but sunny - beautiful walking weather. We found walking from the parking to the start and back more exhausting than the actual walk! But when we got home, we all passed out from being outside in the fresh air and sunshine. So tonight everyone is pretty grumpy and worn out.
Good night!
