Long Weekend

Tomorrow is National Womens Day and so we are making a long weekend of it by taking Friday off.

Every two years, we do a farm stay. Farm stays are great as you get to stay on really nice farms, in accommodation that is usually very nice, for far less than the average Bed and Breakfast. We also enjoy being able to walk around a working farm to see what the farmer is doing, and to enjoy the sunshine, the quiet and lots of fresh air. Of course, there is always the famous Afrikaans hospitality to enjoy. Looking forward to some boerebiskuit!

This year, we are repeating our trip to the North-West Province to stay near Lichtenburg. We book through an agency on the internet (www.farmstay.co.za). The farmer's wife phoned us yesterday to welcome us so we are looking forward to a great stay with nice people.
Looking forward to visiting Barberspan - a nearby wetland to do some birdwatching - unlikely to be great given that it is winter. And there is a nature reserve nearby that we might pay a visit to. Got a nice backpack to carry Daniel in, and Emma has her Kango so we can go for walks with them both.

Should be a great break. - we both need to relax a bit as our recent colds really wore us down.

Look out for the photos!
