Weekend Activities

This past weekend saw us buying a few more toys for Emma and Daniel. We paid a visit to our favourite second hand store and came home with a couple of real gems, including a Fisher-Price toy from 1978! It is in immaculate condition, and so quaint and low-tech! We also got them a toddle truck, but Emma is quite terrified of it. We have left it in the lounge with her other toys, in the anticipation that she will get used to it and will see the benefit of it! Daniel likes the big yellow wheels on it though!

Both of them were pretty exhausted most of the weekend, and on Saturday night Emma cased out before 7:30, and woke at 7:30 am!

They went to Granny Jo and Aunty Judy on Sunday night so we could go to the Pink concert. We got everyone ready on time, and dropped them off. Our camping cots came in handy as we took them with us and assembled them at Granny's. It seemed to give them some familiarity as once they were in their beds, they didn't take too long to fall off to sleep (except for Emma's familiar bedtime moaning). We were concerned that when we picked them up again that they would think it was playtime, and not let us sleep, but we aced the transfer from cot to car to cot beautifully, and Daniel didn't even wake up when I took him out of his car seat and put him in his bed! I was very chuffed with both of them!

The concert was fabulous, with Pink being a very high energy performer and entertainer. The time flew by, and we were astounded when she said goodnight, as if felt as if she had just gone on stage. We are both really pleased we went, even though it meant that today Steve was feeling a little tired! I managed to survive the day quite well, but do feel the bedtime urge coming on!

Steve took some photos of my darlings on my lap on Saturday morning - we were all ready to go out shopping, and I took some of Emma and Daniel this evening. Daniel is starting to pull himself up on things, and has started climbing the steps. I took this one of him peeping over the top step. Emma was being inquisitve, and was climbing all over me while I was photographing Daniel! He has also taken to his highchair, and loves sitting swinging his legs. Interestingly, Emma is a little nervous of being suspended over the edge of the table and really has not got used to the idea yet.

Enjoy the week!
