Another Week

Daniel happy after yet another ascent of the armchair

Us fight - nevvvvvvveeerrr

Two climbers rest after the ascent of the armchair.

An ascent going back down from the armchair - not such a good idea!

Superficial facial scratches after the ascent of the outside chairs turned nasty!

We love Provitas.

With all of us being sick during the last week, life has been interesting. Everyone seems to be on the mend now - just lets hope we have not infected each other.
On Thursday night, Fiona and I saw "The Lion King" for the second time - courtesy of Fiona's boss. We had the best seats in the house so the evening did not drag at all! We also had a really fantastic meal before the show with the whole management team that Fiona works with. Nice to meet the people behind the names. An interesting evening which did not help our recovery process. Granny Jo looked after the twins.
Danial and Emma have developed a climbing route - onto the coffee table, then onto the kisk before sliding down the arm of the armchair (next to the fireplace) onto the seat cushion. They love it. No falls yet and they seem careful - but when two do the route at once, there is bound to be an accident as they have no hesitation in taking each other out.
They have started sleeping on the seat cushions that we have spread around the armchair to catch anyone who falls. A nice advancement as it means that we may soon be able to get rid of the camp cots.
Daniel is still not walking although he stands unsupported. He has started taking three steps in a row before collapsing onto the floor.
The "premadonna" outbursts from both still occur when they don't get their way. We generally ignore them which is painful if there is a good programme on TV - we can't hear.
Daniel has two top teeth emerging - we are trying to encourage him to brush them- not easy. He seems to have one or two bottom teeth on the way too. Emma is doing a lot more drooling - but nothing has appeared yet.
Both have been waking us up several times a night lately - long enough so you can feel it the next morning but nothing significant. They seem to be waking up due to pain from teething. We gave Emma muti at 5 am this morning after she had disturbed our sleep from about 3 am. And Daniel had his chance the previous night. Tonight is rest night (please ...).
Isn't it great to have all this great TV back - a new Grey's Anatomy,a new Men in Trees series and the wacky Weeds on late. And then Super 14 returns on Friday - the year begins.
We finally got rid of our Telkom Internet and changed our phone to a "pay-as-you-go" as we were paying for its upkeep so Abigail - our maid- could use it. Not really very cost-effective. Now we have it charged with R100 vouchers and a password before you can make a call. Should last until Xmas as we hardly use the phone. All for about R22 a month (instead of R200 before we even dailed a number). Thank goodness for Skype for the long-distance calls.
Interesting to note that Telkom did not seem too worried about our cancellation of their services. They are going to lose a few thousand rands from our lack of participation.
We had a grand Wimpy breakfast at the Brightwater Commons Shopping Centre on Sunday. Nice to sit in the sun as it warmed up after a few cold days. I think winter is coming a little earlier this year. The twins could not eat enough scrambled egg - they had two each!
We've decided to celebrate Valentines with our customary dinner - a day late as it is so much cheaper and so much easier to get a seat. Got a booking at the famous "The Singing Fig." It has a very good reputation so it should be great.
Lets hope the weather stays warm and sunny and that everyone stays well! Good night!

Hi FEDS - glad to hear you are all on the mend. Thanks for the great photos. Daniel's hair is coming along nicely - looks like it has a hint of a curl at the back. Good luck with the teething and more sleepless nights.
Luv you all tons
