The News

Andrew, Daniel and Emma

Andrew & Daniel

Over the weekend, in an effort to get Daniel to walk more and crawl less (we're of the opinion he is a bit too lazy to walk), we got him to start pushing the little toddle truck in the garden. Well, what a difference - we went around the entire garden four times before Dad decided he needed some refreshment!

Later on he did another round with Emma in close attendance pushing a toy wheelbarrow. Anyhow, the toddletruck seems to have awoken an appreciation for walking and so he is beginning to walk a lot more. Nice to see but politically difficult when both of them want to push the toddle truck.

Daniel has also decided that he is incapable of falling asleep without an additional ten minute cuddle and rock (they get a great deal already). So when we put him to bed, it is met with a great deal of very loud protesting until he is picked up and cuddled. He immediately goes to sleep after this. We are trying to avoid this but what do you do with an hysterical baby - after leaving him to complain for five minutes? We hold his chest down - as instructed by the sleep expert, and this helps - usually after the cuddle though.

Nice thing is that both move voluntarily to the bedroom when we tell them it is "bye-bye time."

Daniel has developed the habit of acting like a little Prima Donna in that he holds out his hands to anyone who is not holding him as if to say take me now please as this person just has no clue. Interesting when he is passed between us!

Emma on the other hand has a quieter week in that she has been going to bed very easily. She occasionally finds it funny to hit one of us or Daniel with a toy which immediately gets a verbal rebuff. It has not yet become a habit though.

Ooh yes: Emma fell in the pool! We were doing our round the house thing for the first time, and Daniel and her decided they wanted to put their hands in the water and splash - as they do in the bath. Well, Emma fell into the pool - well almost as the pool net caught her. They both got quite a fright - even though she was rescued immediately. After that, both have stayed far from the water which is a situation we'll stick with - thank you. The pool net makes it very hard to go wrong but we'd rather be ultra cautious.

A nice thing we've noticed is how they are starting to try and help each other out. Both of them will often bring the other's dummy, if the other is having a meltdown. They also seem to be willing to share toys a little more BUT not all the time! Nice to watch.

Now we're watching the Oscars - which are great as usual.

Congrats to Jess on her impending marriage in May. We have the invitation and will be there.

That is about it!

Hi FEDS
Wow ---we bloggers are deprived of news for nearly a week then get about 10days of news in one mailshot---well worth the wait & we understand that editors need some sleep .There appears to be some serious developments & changing natures taking place in FEDSLAND.
Lauren & Terry were given some special comp tickets for the A1 on Sunday & wondered around the pit lane etc so that was quite cool ---she was really glad they had ear plugs to block out some of the noise.
Cait's 1st day at work went well & people seem very friendly
Erin has secured her part time job & will be shown the school/after school routine by the mom of the 2 kids she will be looking after.
Thats it for now

hey there FEDS

Long time no comment, but it's really great to read bout you guys again. She fell onto the pool net! It's a necessary step for a swimming champ to fall in the pool when they are very young, (ask Caiti; she knows all about it) - hehehe - it's wonderful to hear Dan's taken to walking more now, and that they are kinda mingling with each other in a helpful way.
So, yea, I have got a job to aupair for a 7 year old and a 8 year old. I went to the school today with them and the youngest one has really taken a liking to me. The mom is really nice too, lets all hope it goes well for a long time.
Time to go quick, chores!
Chat again, love you ALL
