So, I am back after a very long absence on the blog! I just never seem to find the time to post anything, and Steve has been covering that recently.
Emma and Daniel have had a good week this week, which means we have too. Emma's teeth have still not put in an appearance, but we think that they were just decending when she was causing havoc last weekend. Still the real thing to go.... The past 3 nights they have slept through again without us needing to get up, so we are feeling quite good!
Yesterday we developed a new game, which had them both shrieking with laughter. They were sitting next to each other on the lounge suite, and when one leaned forwards, I pushed them back against the back of the chair. Then it was repeated with the other one. We did that for ages, and they loved it! See photos below!
Emma's hair is so long, hence the hair band now. I have tried clips, but she pulls them out, and eventually yesterday at creche, someone put a band in her hair, so it stayed like that! I have an appointment next week for them to both meet my hairdresser, who has very sweetly said she will charge me a nominal amount, and might not give them a proper cut, but they need to start getting used to it happening. Up until now, I have been trimming Emma's fringe when it is necessary.
It is Granny Lesley's birthday today -so happy birthday to her! We would so love to be able to spend it with you, but are all thinking about you and hope you have a good day.
Daniel's walking has progressed in leaps and bounds, and he now favours it over crawling which I am so happy about. Interestingly, for all of Emma's confidence, she is very good about holding my hand when we walk together, but Daniel is Mr Independent, and refuses to hold our hand. It could be a problem at creche when we walk in together, as we have to cross the car park. But for now I still carry him in, and Emma walks in.
They are so happy at creche, and have three more weeks before they go down the passage to the 'big toddlers' group of 18 - 36 months. I can see that it is time now, as whenever they are down that end, they are so happy. We have a new teacher for that group who is Montesorri trained, which we like. She is very young and her Mummy still picks her up from creche too! But she is very sweet, and it is clear that she absolutely adores chidlren.
The speaking of words is slowly progressing, and Emma is trying to say everything from pen, flower to button, when we point something out to her. But their understanding is far greater, and they will point to things if we say the words. Good progress I think.
Enjoy the pics below and your weekend!
Hilarity is...
...killing ourselves with laughter!
...being so weak at the knees we can't stand up!
