Sniffles

Well it is a double set of sniffles - everyone but Emma has a cold and someone left a comment on our post (now deleted for all of our safety) that contained a link to some virus.

As a result, we have put in place some restrictions on comments - including that they will be checked by us before they are displayed.

Daniel seems to be getting sicker - tonight he has the famous "Daniel is sick look." Not a pleasant sight. Anyhow, he is now in bed with some cough syrup and panado. Last night he slept through, which after the previous 2 am feeds, was a big relief. we think he may be scared of the dark - and so a bit of the blackout curtain is now left open so some light gets into his cot. Seems to be helping.

Emma is her usual self - doing lots of singing to herself and arranging things. A very busy little girl. As I said in the deleted blog, she has the first millimetres of two teeth finally appearing - one on each gum. quite exciting. Last night she managed to fall and actually bit her top gum with her tooth on the lower gum.

Quite a few people at the Creche and fiona's boss are all coming down with the tummy bug that hit us last week. Lets hope we don't have a re-occurance as that was quite tough.

We had our first planned power outage on Tuesday night - for four hours. We used the occasion to take granny Jo out to Rosebank (where there was power) for her birthday dinner. Had a nice time although emma and daniel discovered the delights of running on a smooth mall floor - so there were lots of not so short walks to meet their expressed - rather screamed - need to walk. Daniel was interested in the escalators and had to be steered before he went over to touch them.

Our next outage is on Saturday night - we've bought some nice headlights so we can do things with two hands free - both twins were quite scared in the dark on Tuesday night - and thus had to be held - which made packing to go out very difficult. We'll probably do take aways from the wood-fired pizza shop or a braai using the copious amounts of wood in our compost pile.

We have replaced virtually all our globes with energy saving ones as part of our contribution tp energy saving. Yesterday we forgot to turn the geyser on in the evening - to our surprise, the water was still hot when we showered despite the geyser being off for 15 hours. It was cold this morning though!

Otherwise things are fine - our good sleep last night meant that today was a little easier.

Glad to hear you have sorted out the virus, and the photos are great.
Hugs and kisses all round.
