Hello Again!

Yes, we are still around! The twins have been niggling a great deal which has meant that feeds take forever and as a result, we are so busy trying to recover between feeds that the blog has been neglected.

It was really nice to see Leona, who flew up from Durban, over the weekend. Although it was no holiday for her as we had several almost all night sessions of feeding and burping and burping and burping and then feeding ... Thanks Leona for being so patient.

Lesley and John have been absolute stars - helping out while Fiona recovers after doing the early morning feeds, and then taking over feeds when they niggle in the early evening. Lesley has also played a big role in running the household while we concentrate on getting the babies fed- oh they will certainly be missed when they go home tomorrow.

Lesley sewed up our blackout curtains today and put them up on the rail - which promptly decided it didn't like the weight and came out of the wall in two places. A job for the weekend.

So it is us two alone from here on in. A daunting prospect. We're trying to organise a night nurse for every third night so we can each battle for one night and then recover on the third evening. It is going to be a trying time - but luckily we've learnt to feed them both at once (each one propped up in the cot and feeding from a bottle that is in turn propped up or held).

Daniel has had a seriously blocked nose which has contributed to his niggling as he is battling to breathe. Got some saline drops that seem to loosen it all up and so he is niggling less.

Today, the niggling has not been too bad. they slept and fed well virtually all day except for the usual dusk niggling which lasts until about 8 pm. They are now back toslleping and feeding nicely - long may it last.

Yesterday they had their weigh-ins - all is fine although Emma has not put on as much weight as we would have liked - the niggling has used up a little of the reserves. Nothing to worry about though.
