FEDS News

We record the birth of another member of the broader family in London on Friday evening. Welcome to Thomas, son of Gavin and Sam. Congratulations to the parents. The proud grandparents dropped in with a very welcome gift of nappies and baby wipes for FEDS on Saturday afternoon. Thank you.
The family have now recorded something like five births in little more than two years. We are all obviously late starters as things were pretty quite before that (except for Joni and Edwin).

The twins are showing signs of settling down for longer periods at night. Nothing yet that means we are less tired but certainly it means that we are more relaxed. They are devouring bottles of milk - sometimes more than we can make.

Emma has returned to the habit of a late afternoon niggle which is really tedious as nothing seems to work until someone somewhere flicks a magic switch and she falls into a deep sleep in a matter of seconds. One trick that calms her down in two or three seconds is to "shshshshshshsh" her. A great trick learnt from antenatal classes.

The SAMBA get-together was interesting in that we met twins (and parents) that had got through the 3-month "baby basics" and things were a lot less stressing for the parents. There is a light in the distance ... Also met a couple that had twins at a similiar age to ours - and they have had no help - very tough and brave people.

Good news is that we are about to trade in my old Jetta for a brand new VW Polo TDi. We just cannot risk a car that breaks down every so often when we are transporting our babies - too many dangerous people out there. Not a glamourous car but one that makes the impending interest rate hikes look less threatening - oh the joys of parenthood.

Hey there...
They are looking so well. I'm so relieved that they are putting on so much weight so quickly...great to hear that they are sleeping a little longer now. It might not be much at the time, but it should build up. Keep well young parents. You're doing a wonderful job.
Love to all!! xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
