Daniel and Emma went for their weekly health check and injections today.
The great news is that Daniel put on 500g in one week (massive) and Emma 300g (also really good). We are really happy as each gram represents a lot of staying awake late at night - all worth it!
The injections have made both babies virtually hysterical - we have never heard them scream like they are now. They are quite clearly in enormous pain at the site of the injection. Emma is responding to being rocked but Daniel - the one who is normally quite relaxed and quiet - is screaming a great deal.
I suppose it is good that we hear their extreme distress cry so we can recognise it later - as if anybody would miss it!
Otherwise Daniels operation has been authorised by medical aid and his pre-admission forms faxed to Sandton Clinic. Lesley has kindly researched the issue a little bit more - the hernia occurs in about 30% of premature boys and is common on the right-hand side.
Tonight is a night nurse night - boy are we going to sleep.

Hello Roberts family - wishing lots of loves and hugs for Daniel for his op on Friday. AND for Emma too - don't want her to feel left out! Hope the babies settle tonight so that you can have your much needed precious sleep. Love you all very much
Hugs and kisses xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
