Emma and Daniel turned a whole 4 months old yesterday. I can't quite believe it! I took them to be weighed today, and Daniel is 6,3kg and Emma 5,1kg. Dan is 61,5cm long and Emma is 58cm. To think that they are almost 20cm longer than when they were born amazes me!
Emma has baby excema, which is a little disappointing, but my clinic sister has assured me that most babies grow out of it. I have had to buy some special completely mild and fragrance free moisturiser for her, as even the hypo allergenic baby ones are not mild enough! We have to change from bathing her in baby wash to using aqueous cream and then use this moisturiser afterwards! Hopefully that will help as her little legs feel as if she has sandpaper leggings on! Poor baby. They continue to be sweet, and are both very chatty. Daniel is very responsive to us singing and chatting to him, but Emma has to be in a certain mood to appreciate conversation. She is a little adrenalin junkie though, and the rougher the joggling, swinging, or flying through the air, the better!
Daniel seems to be enjoying his porridge, and the quantity has been increased from 1 teaspoon to 2,5 teaspoons each night. He has still not dropped that early morning feed, but I can't increase his milk intake any more during the day. He is drinking almost a litre a day.
Caro started work on Monday, and is thoroughly enjoying it! It is a very early morning for her and Steve though, as he is (very sweetly) taking her to work and she starts at 6am! Monday for me was pretty tough, as I was on my own, and darling Emma had several temper tantrums. I think the shock of not having her Aunt's pair of willing hands at her beck and call was tremendous, and I gave her two 5 minute time-outs in her bedroom, as she was distressing Daniel while I was trying to feed him. The two days since have been better, so I think she is coming to terms with sharing my time with her brother! They are also both at a brain growth spurt which tends to make them a bit cranky. Daniel has yet to have a real tantrum (a la Emma), but has been fighting sleep at night this week - his interpretation of cranky, no doubt!
No photos tonight, but I will add some tomorrow...

a la emma....she's going to be a handful! Congratulations Caro on the job.
I hope they don't get too used to the extra 5 pairs of hands down here that will be at their beck and call...
I can't believe how much they've grown in just 4 months.
I've checked my college schedule and I don't have lectures that weekend, thank goodness!
See you all then.
lots of love
