Blog drought

Sorry for the long absence – we ran out of internet time over the weekend! Hope you are all having a great week.

Emma and Daniel are doing very well at 5 months old. They were weighed and measured yesterday and are both growing nicely. Daniel weighs 7,3kg and is about 64cm long. Emma is a little behind with her weight at 5,7kg and has not put too much on, but as she is now starting solids maybe that will change soon. Her length is fine at 62cm. I think she just expends too much energy with her freak outs, and so is not packing on the bulk as Daniel is!

We had an exceptional night last night. Daniel fell asleep close to 9 and woke this morning at 7am! Emma was having a lovely play by herself ( a miracle in itself) on her mat, and finally fell asleep sometime after 10 but only woke me up this morning at 6:30. We are thrilled, and are all feeling quite good thins morning after an excellent sleep all round!

Daniel is now on 3 solid meals a day with fruit in the morning, veggies in the afternoon and his cereal in the evenings. Of all of them, he seems to enjoy the veggies the most, and has tried butternut, sweet potato, carrots and baby marrows. He likes his banana too, but always spits the apple back at me! I have some plums and pears to cook up this weekend, and will prepare some more veggies too for while I am not here during the week. Norose is starting today in her new job with us as their primary caregiver during the day. I am starting to get sad about leaving them, but I think we will all soon fall into a new routine, and will have to make the most of our weekends.

Emma has started really laughing like a little person and I try my hardest to make her laugh as it is too cute for words. It sounds like the stereotypical little girl laugh that even dolls are programmed to make. Although I have a feeling that she will try to rule the roost here, I think she will go about it in a very endearing way that will be hard to resist!

Daniel is such a gentle sweet natured soul, and although he is not laughing properly, he spends a lot of time chuckling which is also lovely to hear. I am also pleased that his tummy troubles of the past, with all his squeezing, no longer plague him so that is good.

On that note I had better get on! I have attached some photos of the two of them. In the top one, Daniel is in the red, and pulling a very common 'Daniel' face. In the second one of him in his car seat, he looks as if he was caught in the act of doing something forbidden and in the last picture Emma is wearing a little top that I wore when I was a baby.

I love the pics, the one of the 2 of them sitting together is adorable...it seems like forever since we last saw all of you. I'm wishing that end April comes quicker so we can see you again...

Great to hear Daniel is enjoying his fruit and veg! They are looking more like little children rather than babies now! Can't believe how fast they change.
Looking forward to seeing all of you and hearing their laughter and chuckles.
Love to all...
