Last night was our worst night that we can remember. It started with Emma asking for her bottle before midnight and it ended at about 6am. Eventually it ended up with Emma having polished off two bottles (she has gone a night without having one) and Daniel had one and half too.
The night boiled down to us walking the line between letting nature or antibiotics sort out their colds. Last night Daniel's cold moved into his chest and made him really unhappy. Emma also seemed quite restless, calling us all the time. Poor Fiona had her boss come back from overseas today and so she wanted to be sharp for him - well, the 4am cuddling of Daniel did not help. She went to bed missing that sleep. I took two hours out of work to sleep (the choice was me take the whole day off or two hours off). Anyhow, after a visit to our GP this afternoon, they have both got antibiotics, cough syrup (very tasty) and two kinds of nose drops to sort out the issue. This evening, after his first medicine, Daniel was full of energy and laughs - first time for a few days.
We're also getting Emma out of her dummy addiction as it causes more sleeplessness than anything else.
Now to bed after a really wonderful dinner made by Lesley.
