Come on brother, it is only two stairs ...

This new feature called stairs that you've added to our playground is such fun!

Stair climbing is so yesterday - now it is all about stair descending ...

Life in the Roberts household is very quiet and contented, although this week has been marked by someone waking up in the middle of the night each night. Usually it does not take them long to fall back to sleep but you know about it the next morning when you try to get out of bed.

Our main project is to get Emma to master going down the stairs. She goes up them at great speed now and then spends the rest of the time perched above them trying to will herself down but being too scared to do so. She has managed to fall down them twice so far. We spend quite a long time each evening helping her practice the moves to go down them - she is definitely starting to recognise the value of the moves (she previously did not seem to register why we were helping her) - she just now has to do them herself.

Daniel has reached the stage of crawling to the stairs and pulling himself up into a sitting position in order to looking longingly at the top of the stairs - almost as if he is psyching himself to go up. Unlike Emma, he is long enough to lift himself up - he just has to realise it. Tonight, I spent time with him showing him how to go up - he is still a long way off as he does not move his arms when you move his legs. It will happen ...

Norose is making a new concerted effort to do exercises with each child each day. Not an easy thing as they do not always understand - perserverence ...

This evening Emma had a long session playing with the flat soccer ball. Lots of laughs. Very nice to watch.
