It is the day before the Greatest Show on Earth - the Olympics - starts. I certainly can't wait.
Fiona jetted off to Grahamstown this afternoon to attend Debbie Dalton's wedding. And so I'm looking after the twins.
Her plane took off 40 minutes late due to some air conditioning filter not working which meant that the drive from East London to Grahamstown had to be completed just before dusk. She got in just after dusk - lots of roadworks and very windy meant things were tough. Anyway, she is currently enjoying dinner with the Daltons in Grahamstown. Caroline was supposed to go but had her leave withdrawn by her boss at the last moment - a big disappointment to Fiona. Anyway - Caroline's boss will be reimbursing her for the costs (and hopefully some of ours too).
All is going well - they have been like angels all evening. We read two new books before bedtime which promised to be a screaming affair but after two minutes turned out not to be. Thank goodness.
Daniel started counting today which was nice to listen to.
We gave him the toy Ferrari that Fiona bought me many years ago (to stop me always asking for a Ferrari). He loves it and does not it out of his sight.
Both of them have got good taste as their preferred cars are a Porsche and the Ferrari. Interesting!
The weather is suddenly warming up which is so wonderful - trying not to get too used to it as there is always a last cold front that knocks the stuffing out of everyone. the winter has been relatively mild - we have had lots of days in the teens but no nights below zero which is quite unusual (and enjoyable).
TGIF tomorrow (and Olympics too).
