Sunny Days

After a terrible week of being awake at all hours of the night, many high temperatures (which were all due to teething problems for Emma) and temper tantrums (courtesy of Daniel) we have had a really good, happy weekend!

Daniel decided this week that what ever he was wearing and doing was the way it had to stay, irrespective of dirty nappies and pajamas! So, each time we had to change his nappy or his clothes, we had a nightmare of a time, with one marathon tantrum lasting 90 minutes the other night! However today he was back to his sunny self, so hopefully that small phase is just that!

Word of the week for him is 'butter bike' (motorbike) which he calls his little black bike that he rides around on. Also umlella (umbrella) from both of them and 'hum-dumpty' from Emma. She is starting to construct 2 and 3 word sentences now, which is great, although one of her favourites which we are squashing is 'naughty Daniel'. Not acceptable to us when he is clearly behaving! 'Emma up', 'nother one', 'mummy nose' are also being said.

We had nice weekend lie-ins on both mornings, with them waking up at 7:30 on Saturday morning and 7:50 this morning. They both also had very long day sleeps of about 3 hours each day.

Daniel is attached, as can be seen in the photos below, to a duck that Granny and Grandpa in Durban gave them before they were born. It has sat in their room un-noticed until the other day when he chanced upon it, and has taking a serious liking to it! It seems to be called quack-quack and has been everywhere today, even to the park this afternoon! He cuddles it at night too, which is a first for him. Emma has had a teddy in her cot at night for some time now, but he usually takes a car or six to bed with him.

We are sad that the olympics are over, and have decided to try and make it to the London ones, as we really want to attend one and that seems like a logical option.

Contrary to popular belief, Emma does have a mouth behind that dummy!

Baby Daniel trying in vain to fit into a carry cot!

Mouth has gone again.

'Me 'n Quack-quack.'

Teeth galore!

A bird in the hand...

Learning how to smile for the camera.

Yay!
