On Saturday morning I went off to get nappies, formula, porridge and wetwipes. While I was there, I picked up another super CD for them which has songs that are more action oriented (I have had Teddy Bear's picnic on my brain now for 2 days). I also bought them half a 'clam' (see in the photos below) which is really supposed to be a sandpit, but during the past few days of very wet weather, has worked well in the lounge! I also got a sack of plastic balls (also in pics below) and they had an amazing amount of fun with them.
This past weekend was a weekend of trials, as they are no longer on their usual formulas but have gone onto a 'growing up' formula which tastes a bit different. They also had a bottle of cow's milk for the first time (although I have been using milk for about 10 days to mix their porridge). We also gave them some of their moo juice out of cups which they seemed quite intrigued at. Daniel kept lowering his head onto the rim of the cup, but then he couldn't drink, so ended up lapping it out of the cup. On the few occasions that he did lift his head he and I tipped it all down his front! Emma has got the hang of tilting her head up already with her bottle, and stayed a lot drier and was a bit more successful with that experiment.
It was (of course) also a weekend full of sport with all 4 Rugby world cup quarter finals, which Steve really enjoyed. I also watched, but was busy with other things, so wasn't paying very close attention. Then of course there was also the Grand Prix upset! I was disappointed for Lewis Hamilton, but it does make the season very exciting, as it will go right down to the wire in 2 weeks time.
This coming weekend it is their friend Andrew's birthday party and then the following weekend Barry and Leona are coming to stay for the weekend before going up to time share at Sun City with Barry's sister and brother-in-law. It will be great to see them all again so soon.
Have a Happy Week!
