This weekend started on Friday at lunch time with the creche calling to say that Daniel had a temperature and they asked if they could give him panado. After his 2 hour nap, they called again to say that it had gone back down to within the normal range. At 4pm they called again to say that it had shot up again but they couldn't dose him as it was too soon. They took most of his clothes off though, to counter act the effect of the temperature. When I got there, he was still very hot, but his little hands were blue. As soon as the six hours were up since the last dose, we gave him some more.
This has been the recurring pattern of this entire weekend! He is drooling terribly, and has been sleeping fitfully. Today he hardly ate a thing - which as you all know is very unlike our Daniel. Today he woke at 6am, but after a bottle and some panado, he drifted off to sleep again in our bed. He had a long noon nap, and no sooner had he woken up, he fell sleep again on Steve's lap. He was asleep again tonight quite early, but has woken three times since he went to bed, so I can see a potential rough one ahead of us.
Yesterday he also spent the day moping around, and at one point he just lay down on one of the cushions from the outside chairs which was on the verandah.
He did have a bright moment this morning when he finally woke up again at about 8:30 and was full of life, but that didn't last too long. We gave them their bottles and carried on dozing, and I woke with a fright when Steve said that Daniel had cut himself as there was blood everywhere. We looked at it all over his head and down the sides of his face, but the little blighter has learnt how to open zips and had opened a pocket on my handbag that I keep my lipsticks in. He has a fascination for my lip ice, so when he saw that, he couldn't resist. He destroyed an entire lipstick (luckily it was almost finished) and two more are missing in action - somewhere! But he had smeared the now destroyed one all over his head!
Emma has been full of beans, and is adding to her vocab by the day. Her latest trick is to fill a plastic container with a few bits and pieces, sling the handle of it over her arm and then wave bye bye as her bag is packed and she is off somewhere! It is very sweet. She is a very loving little thing, and willingly gives 'loves and kisses' when ever she asked to do so. I also received a donation of some tins of formula for the Multiple Birth samaritan families which are currently sitting in the diningroom and which she spent a lot of time shuffling around the house this weekend. It kept her occupied for ages, as there are 8 tins!
Have a great week!
Bath time after a dirty day playing outside
Emma and Daniel hugging (note Daniel's new shoe - one of mine!)
More hugs
Lipstick all over! And to add insult to injury, he was wearing one of Emma's baby grows!
